Compassion Fatigue is a collage I made 3 months after my father suffered a serious stroke. ‘Compassion fatigue’ is a response to the stress of caring for people at times of crisis and is often referred to as the cost of caring. It is common among individuals that work directly with trauma victims such as, nurses, psychologists, paramedics and family members of patients suffering from a chronic illness. It is a unique form of burnout and if left untreated can lead to more serious issues like depression.

For my collaboration with Pseushi I decided to shoot the t-shirt on some of the staff at Braeside Rehabilitation Centre where my dad continues his recovery. Thank you to everyone out there in care giving professions that are there to pick us up after we fall. ❤️ #compassionfatigue
